Common questions
How many templates does Roost have?
315 in total: 111 vault templates across 14 categories, 66 task templates, 63 routine templates, 39 note templates and 36 list types. Each one arrives with the fields that thing actually needs, and every vault template includes a pre-structured “If X happens” emergency block.
Do I have to use templates?
No. Every section lets you create a blank item and fill it in however you like. The templates exist so that the first evening does not have to be spent designing your own system, not because Roost insists on a shape.
Are the templates UK-specific?
They are written for British life first. MOT, V5C, road tax, Gas Safe registration, council tax, TV licence, EPC certificate, GHIC, Railcard, Blue Light Card, Premium Bonds, Help to Buy and Right to Buy all appear as templates in their own right. Roost works anywhere, but these are the things a British household actually deals with.
Can I make my own list types?
Yes. Alongside the 36 built-in list types you can create a custom type and name it yourself, and it behaves like the others.

Yes. Every vault template arrives with its “If X happens” block already structured, so you add your own numbers once and the shape is already right.
