What's new.

How the free plan counts
- The free plan holds 10 items in each section, and that count now includes anything your household has shared with you.
- Viewing is unaffected. You can always see everything shared with you, on any plan, however much of it there is.
- Joining a household that already holds more than 10 items in a section means you will need Pro to add more of your own there.
- Pro covers one account. Each person in a household needs their own to keep adding freely.
- The vault and the first-run setup now respect the limit too, so nothing can quietly put an account over it.
- On the web now. The iOS release is with Apple for review.

Live support chat, and free Pro trials
- Support chat, in the app and on the web. Messages go straight to a real person and replies arrive without a refresh.
- A push notification when support replies, so you do not have to sit and watch the thread.
- Free Pro trials can now be offered to individual accounts and claimed in the app.
- Recurring tasks in quick-add, with a plain-English summary of the repeat rule.
- Reminder time and assignee in quick-add, matching the full editor.
- Vault attachments upload reliably on large files.

Ask Roost, and AI across the app
- Ask Roost. A conversational assistant that reads your own open tasks, upcoming renewals, overdue routines and recent notes before it answers, so it talks about your life rather than in general.
- A savings briefing on the Renewals screen, reading what is coming up and what it costs.
- Three tasks worth doing today, picked from the week with a reason for each.
- Point the camera at a poster, book cover, wine label or handwritten list and Roost fills the details in. Works across 23 list types, straight into tasks, and on the vehicle, insurance, appliance and subscription vault forms.
- Shopping lists regrouped by supermarket aisle, so one walk round the shop does it.
- Describe your home and Roost proposes routines with sensible cadences.
- Note summaries, and a way to pull the actions out of a note into real tasks.
- Cover art fetched automatically for films, TV, books, records and podcasts.
- Ask Roost on the web too, inline on the home page.
- A notifications panel behind the bell in the sidebar.
11 June 2026v1.3
End-to-end encryption, and key recovery
- Everything you keep private is now encrypted on your device before it leaves it. Roost cannot read it.
- Shared items stay encrypted at rest, with access enforced by the database rather than by the app.
- A six-digit recovery PIN, so end-to-end encryption does not mean losing everything with the phone.
- Household keys are distributed per device, so sharing keeps working across everyone's phones.
- Face ID, Touch ID or passcode lock on the app itself.
10 June 2026v1.2.1
Household hub, renewals, and new vault types
- A hub screen for each household, showing every member and everything shared, with a short written overview of what you are managing together.
- A dedicated Renewals screen with a running monthly total across everything you hold.
- Life insurance, mortgage and pet insurance as vault types of their own, including cat, dog, horse and parrot.
- The emergency section now sits at the top of a vault item, where you need it when something has gone wrong.
- Tabbed emergency buttons on items that carry more than one phone number.
- Household invitations by email, with a notification when someone accepts.
- Editable household name and photo.
